This tab delivers commands previously found in the View menu and Window menu.


View Tab



Views

This group comprises all the commands relating to the different ways you can view your documents.

Read Mode - Maximises the Word window on the screen and removals all toolbars etc to allow easy reading.

Print Layout - Shows the document as it would appear if printed and is the default view.

Web Layout - Shows the document as it would appear as a web page.

Outline - Shows the document as an outline is shows the Outlining contextual tab.

Draft - Shows the document in draft mode allowing for quick editing. When using this view certain aspects of the document are not visible, for example any headers or footers.

Ruler - Toggles the Position of the ruler(s).

Gridlines - Toggles the Position of gridlines.

Navigation Pane - Toggles the Position of the Navigation task pane. This is a mixture of the Find, Document Map and Thumbnails.

Message Bar - Toggles whether the Message Bar is used

Document Map - Toggles the Position of the Document map task pane.

Thumbnails - Toggles the Position of the Thumbnails task pane.



Zoom

Everything relating to adjusting the show percentage of the active document. There is also a new zoom slider in the bottom right angle next to the position bar.


Zoom

Zoom - Shows the "Zoom" dialog box. This can also be retrieved from the position bar by clicking on the view percentage.

100% - Regulates the zoom to 100% of its normal size and lets you rapidly return to 100%.

One Page – One Page, Adjust the zoom so an entire page fits in the application window.

Two Pages – Two Pages, Adjust the zoom so two entire pages fit in the application window.

Page Width – Page Width, Adjust the zoom so the width of the page is the same as the width of the application window.



Window

 It is conceivable to open many windows of the similar document.

New Window – It lets you make a new window of the current document.

Arrange All – It tiles all the open windows side by side on the screen. This will also maximise the application / document to a full screen.

Split – It splits the present window into dual parts.

View Side by Side - Shows two documents side by side so they can be easily related. If you have more than two documents open the "Relate Side by Side" dialog box is showed so you can choose which document to show next to the active document. permitting you to scroll many windows at the same time.

Synchronous Scrolling - Toggles the coordinate scrolling of the two documents that are showed side by side. It is only allowed when you are viewing multiple documents side by side.

Reset Window Position - Resets the windows positions so they take up the same amount of space on the screen when two documents are showed side by side. It is only allowed when you are viewing multiple documents side by side.

Switch Windows – Switch Windows Drop-Down, let’s you switch between all the presently active documents. This shows all the window / documents that are presently open in the particular session. Previously these were showed on the Window menu.

Macros Macros Button with Drop-Down, the button is the View Macros command and shows the "Macros" dialog box. The drop-down comprises the commands: View Macros, Record Macro and Pause Recording.
If you want to edit macros or do anything more difficult then you should have the Developer tab showed as well.
